Momarsat 2014 visits Lucky Strike

From 13-31 July, the RV Pourquoi pas? will explore the depths of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge near the Azores. The Momarsat 2014 cruise, led by Ifremer and IPGP, will carry out maintenance on the MoMar deep-sea observatory and investigate hydrothermal ecosystems in the Lucky Strike region using the ROV Victor. Habitat mapping, biological sampling, environmental characterisation and in situ experiments are key activities that will contribute data to the MIDAS project.
